MODSHEET 2026.10 // Curated Euro build manifest
Build 001 // ROUND_TAIL_ICON

1972 BMW 2002

GLOSS_BLACK

The small sedan that taught America what a sports sedan could be. Light, simple, rear wheel drive, with a parts world that never went away. This one keeps the round taillights, adds riveted flares, a raw aluminum splitter and a cage, and sits on wide mesh wheels.

Breitspur

The versions that should have existed.

Breitspur is a restomod design studio for German cars. Each concept takes the factory's own design language one step further than the factory dared: lower, wider, sharper, but still unmistakably the car it started as. Proportions, flares and surfaces are drawn by a trained car designer, then rendered with AI tools.

Designer_note // Build_001
The round tails stay. They are the 2002's signature, and the later square lights took away its simplicity. Everything else follows one rule: lower and wider without losing the shape BMW drew. Period style flares, mesh wheels, and a cage because this car wants a track day.

  1. GRL-01

    Step 1: Black Grille Set

The later black center and side grilles on an early round tail car. Bolt on, one evening, and the face changes completely.

    $240Link_soon
  2. SUS-02

    Step 2: Coilover Suspension

Height adjustable coilovers get the car down into the flares and let you dial the stance after the wheels go on.

    $1,400Link_soon
  3. FLR-03

Step 3: Bolt On Fender Flares

Period style riveted flares that make room for wide wheels. Bolt on, but expect to trim the arch lip, so measure twice.

    $450Link_soon
  4. WHL-04

Step 4: 15 in Mesh Wheels and Tires

Wide, polished mesh wheels with a sticky tire. Order after the flares are fitted so the offset is right.

    $1,800Link_soon
  5. SPL-05

    Step 5: Aluminum Front Splitter

A flat, raw aluminum splitter under the front valance. Sharpens the nose and adds a little front grip at speed. Pair it with a tow strap for the full race look.

    $350Link_soon
  6. EXH-06

    Step 6: Dual Outlet Exhaust

A free flowing system with twin tips. Makes the M10 sound like it means it.

    $650Link_soon
  7. CAG-07

Step 7: Bolt In Roll Cage

Adds stiffness and track day safety, and changes the whole look through the glass. Bolt in, no welding.

    $1,200Link_soon

Make it shine

Detail_pass // 3_steps

Decontaminate

Wash, then clay the paint. Fifty year old single stage paint holds grime the mitt leaves behind.

Link_soon

Correct

Black single stage paint shows every swirl. A gentle polish brings back the depth; expect black on the pad.

Link_soon

Protect

Seal the paint and polish the chrome trim. Ten minutes for months of gloss.
